Whimsical Dog Leash Hangers
Dogs Deserve Their Own Door Knob!
Each dog head is individually designed and hand-crafted using a two pieces of 1/8" plywood giving it a 3-D effect; the nose also has a raised 3-D look using a separate round wood cut out. A base of acrylic paint and charcoal is used for individual coloring and markings. The head is sealed for a protective finish and the edges are finished in black. Collars are made from decorative ribbon. The finished cut-out is mounted on a stained and sealed wooden plaque; your choice of a crystal door knob or several different types of hooks is then mounted at the bottom. A self-leveling sawtooth hanger is attached to back for easy hanging. You now have the perfect place to hang your dog's leash! All dogs deserve their own door knob!
A note on custom orders: Once I receive your email picture, I design the dog head, cut, paint on a base coat of acrylic and add the individual coloring and markings with charcoal - this is the "sloppy copy". I will then email a picture back to you for approval before we finish your dog leash hanger. At this point we can make still make changes. I want you to be completely satisfied with your finished product! I love special requests! Maybe you want a painted plaque instead of a stained one, or some fun "bling" or embellishments - no problem, we work together from beginning to the end!

How it began: When we sold my father's house - where I was raised - I wanted to take something that would remind me of all those fond memories of years gone by. On my last trip "home" I thought about all those old vintage crystal door knobs, so I took a pair. Instead of throwing them in a drawer, I wanted to create some sort of display; hmmm, two door knobs, two greyhounds with two leashes! My "ah-ha" moment! ...and the first dog leash hanger was created! I even used my father's vintage jig saw to make my first whimsical dog leash hanger! I thank my Dad for passing on the joy of working with my hands. I hope my creations are enjoyed as much as I enjoy creating them!

This is a fun three-way hook, has an antique look, is very solid, and all three hooks move from side to side. Approx. size: 7.5" Ht. X 6.5" wide. This would work if you need a hook that hugs the wall. This would be better suited for an octagon or large square plaque. |

These are great vintage, ceramic hot and cold faucets that make great leash hangers. They really work best on a larger plaque (size: 15" wide X 6.5" ht.). This plaque would look great with two hounds or one. |
